Looks like an update to Final Cut Studio 3 is still a ways off. According to AppleInsider we could be seeing an update to Mac OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard by the end of the summer. However, there is no exact date or time for a new Final Cut Studio upgrade. Certain features of Snow Leopard, specifically Quicktime Pro X, go hand in hand with a new Final Cut Studio.
We should have more information come WWDC this June.
