YouSendIt, the online service that allows you to send large attachments via email has a plugin that allows you to send files directly from Final Cut Pro. It appears at the bottom of the export menu. You do need to have a YouSendIt account to use the service, but the account is free to send files up to 100MB and they have premium accounts for larger files.

Alex Gollner has released a free plugin for Final Cut Pro called Move. It allows you to animate a clip from one place to another. You can accomplish the same thing by keyframing in the Motion tab, but this plugin makes it easier and more user friendly.

The website includes a 20 minute tutorial video explaining how it works.

I just received this press release about some new software called UserMatic from EditGroove that gives you more control over Final Cut Pro’s User Preferences. I have not had a chance to use it, but it sounds pretty interesting. If anyone has used it or decides to give it a shot, please let us know your experience in the comments. Check out the release:

Check out Detonation Films. They have a great library of free and cheap effects that you can use in your films and that you can composite directly in Final Cut Pro. The video shows a lot of the effects that they have to offer. These include gun shots, explosions, blood squirting and more. Everything you need to make your killer action movie.

I’m using these effects right now for a little internet video I am working on and I just thought I would share it with all of you. Enjoy!

JES Deinterlacer is, in my opinion, the best way to deinterlace your footage. If you are wondering why your footage comes out with wierd lines across it, especially when there is a lot of movement or action, then you probably need to deinterlace it. I see this all the time with amateur video where people shoot a great film, but they don’t deinterlace it and it can be very distracting.

Another benefit of using JES Deinterlacer over the deinterlacing built into Final Cut Pro is that you can do a batch deinterlace. So if you have a lot of files (say 30 raw clips from your camera) that need deinterlacing, you can just set it up and let it do its work without you having to hang out and babysit.
