Batch Export is one of the handiest little tools in Final Cut Pro. It’s name pretty much says it all. It allows you to select media from your Browser and export multiple files one after the other. This feature can save a lot of time in your work flow and allow you to “set it and forget it” if you will.
Check out Detonation Films. They have a great library of free and cheap effects that you can use in your films and that you can composite directly in Final Cut Pro. The video shows a lot of the effects that they have to offer. These include gun shots, explosions, blood squirting and more. Everything you need to make your killer action movie.
I’m using these effects right now for a little internet video I am working on and I just thought I would share it with all of you. Enjoy!
All images are not perfect from the get go. That is the beauty of post. You have the ability to go in and change (hopefully improve) what was captured on the day. Often there will be something around the edges of the frame that you need to remove (boom mics usually) and cropping is the easiest way to do this.
JES Deinterlacer is, in my opinion, the best way to deinterlace your footage. If you are wondering why your footage comes out with wierd lines across it, especially when there is a lot of movement or action, then you probably need to deinterlace it. I see this all the time with amateur video where people shoot a great film, but they don’t deinterlace it and it can be very distracting.
Another benefit of using JES Deinterlacer over the deinterlacing built into Final Cut Pro is that you can do a batch deinterlace. So if you have a lot of files (say 30 raw clips from your camera) that need deinterlacing, you can just set it up and let it do its work without you having to hang out and babysit. I have just been posting random tips and tricks about Final Cut Pro that come to my mind. However, I am curious as to what you want to read about? Do you want really basic articles about how to setup your system? How about articles about how to do some cool visual effects?
